Billy Ray Fowler: Tabor City

     Billy Ray Fowler of Tabor City died Thursday, May 21, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center, Whiteville. He was 78.

     Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Herman Wallace Fowler and Isadell Floyd Cummings.

    He was a veteran of the U.S Navy where he proudly served his country.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathy Diane Smith, Phylliss Ann “Susie” Suggs; a niece, Angela Charles; and one nephew, Dean Smith.

     He is survived by his wife, Margaret Davis Fowler of the home; one son, Billy Ray Fowler Jr.(Kristy) of Tabor City; a sister, Janice Smith (Junior); three grandchildren, Hailey Worley (Dalton) Colby Fowler (Madison) Tatelyn Jackson (John); seven great-grandchildren, Tuff, Ty, Wrenley, Gannon, Everleigh, Kashton, Ileta; and two brother in laws, Rev. Kenneth Smith and Jerry Suggs.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, May 23, in Dulah Baptist Church, burial following in the Dulah Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
