Carol Joy Baldwin Snipes: Loris

1948 – 2026

     Carol Joy Baldwin Snipes of Loris died Tuesday, June 2, at her home. She was 77.

     Born Aug. 15, 1948 in Lawrence, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Miller Baldwin and the late Frances Marvelle Baldwin. Carol graduated from Helix High School in La Mesa, California in 1966.

     She earned a degree from Grossmont Junior College before graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in education. She taught preschool in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1973-74; then taught in elementary school in Harnett County and Horry County until her retirement.

     A talented singer, she sang in her church choir and was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and attended Loris First Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, David Bissette Snipes; a brother, Stan Baldwin; and a sister, Connie Thomas.

     Graveside services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
