Rebecca Chavis Spivey: Whiteville

1957 – 2026

     Rebecca Chavis Spivey of Whiteville passed away on Wednesday, June 3, in Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center, Whiteville. She was 69.

     Born May 15, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Stella Mae Ellerbe.

     She is survived by two sons, Anthony Spivey (Becky) of Aynor, and Phillip Spivey of Whiteville; three brothers, Nathan Chavis (Valdena) of Lexington, Charles Berry of Rockingham, and Jasper Berry of Gibson; two sisters, Myrtle Paul (Mack) of Rockingham, and Kristy Smith (Shain) of Laurinburg; and four grandchildren, Abigail Spivey, Lakelyn Spivey, Addison Spivey, and Easton Spivey.

     In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Monroe Spivey.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 6, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Wright Ceremony.
