Karen Renee Tillman Cox: Myrtle Beach
1951 – 2026
Karen Renee Tillman Cox of Myrtle Beach passed away peacefully on June 27. She was 75.
Born May 25, 1951, in Hampton, Virginia, Karen was the daughter of the late Lewis Tillman and Sybil Stephens Tillman.
Karen graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She spent most of her life raising her family and caring for her home. She was also a professional photographer, an artist, and an interior designer.
More than anything else, Karen was a woman of deep Christian faith. She loved the Lord and lived out her faith every day. She was an active member of The Father’s House, where her artistic work can be seen throughout the sanctuary. Her greatest desire was that others would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as she did.
In addition to her parents Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Roady.
She is survived by her husband, David Cox; her children, Heather (Stuart) Royall, Nathan (Dana) Roady, Daniel (Michelle) Roady, and Matthew (Britainie) Roady; her stepchildren, Shelli (Lee) James and Steven (Analea) Cox; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many friends and extended family members.
Karen will be remembered for her faith, her love for her family, and the many lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.
A funeral service was planned for 3 pm.. Saturday, July 11, at The Father’s House, 4514 Highway 17 Bypass South, Myrtle Beach. Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service.
