George W Corns: Loris

1947 – 2026

     George W Corns of Loris passed away on Thursday, July 16, at McLeod Loris Hospital. He was 78.

     Born Nov. 8, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late George W Corns, Jr. and the late Alice G Provencher Corns.

     Mr. Corns served his country with courage, honor, and dignity in the United States Marines, completing two tours in Vietnam.

     Survivors include his loving wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Ann Marquardt; a son, George Anthony Corns, and a daughter, Stephanie Stites.

     Memorial services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Hardwick Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. Tim Osment officiating.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at the funeral home.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Loris First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 425, Loris, SC 29569, or to the D.A.V., P.O Box 30637, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.
