Ann Logusz Jernigan: Tabor City

1941 – 2026

     Ann Logusz Jernigan of Tabor City passed away on Saturday, July 18, in her home with her loving family by her side. She was 85.

     Mrs. Jernigan was born May 1, 1941, in Lublin, Poland and was the middle daughter of Ukrainian parents Emilian Logusz and Julia Maksymowycz.

     She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, James Allard Jernigan Jr. who died March 4, 2026.

     Mrs. Jernigan is survived by one daughter, Donna Jernigan of Tabor City; two granddaughters, Rikki Palmer of Tabor City and Ashleigh Mays of Asheville; and one sister, Alexandria “Sandy” Shimoniak of Wisconsin.

     In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jernigan was preceded in death by her younger sister, Marie Glasgow.

     Mrs. Jernigan was of the Catholic faith, and her funeral was planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Loris, interment following at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
