Virgina Faye Morris: Parkton

1937 – 2026

     Virgina Faye Morris of Parkton died Sunday, July 19, in Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center, Wilmington. She was 89.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Thurston Gore and Vera Williamson Gore.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Alvin Joseph Morris; and one son, Alvin Michael Morris.

     She is survived by two daughters, Debra McNeill (Wilson) of Parkton and April Rogers (Charles) of Red Springs; one brother, Larry Gore (Linda) of Longs; four grandchildren, Christopher Rogers (Constance), Cody McNeill, Brandon McNeill (Tessa), Nicholas Rogers(Leslie); five great grandchildren, Ava, Lainey, Allie, Grayson, Giulianna; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

     Family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Barbara Locklear, Dot Locklear, and Chloe Jacobs.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, at Bethesda Fellowship Church, Nakina, burial following in the church cemetery.
