Rosa Lee Skeens Caines
1939 – 2026
Rosa Lee Skeens Caines passed away on May 20 in Winston Salem. She was 87.
Rosie lived in Tabor City for more than 40 years and has lived in Winston Salem for the last 10 years due to health reasons. She lived with her daughters.
Her final wishes were to be laid to rest with her husband, Chester, at the Old Coleman Cemetery in Tabor City. He died in 1984.
A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. on September 12.
Rosie is survived by her three children, Barbara Bailey, Chester Skeens and Vickie Gravels; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Norris, Myrtle Spivey; and one brother, Ronnie James.
Rosie lived on the Coleman farm and worked for the Colemans, especially Mrs. Ivey Coleman. Rosie was a woman who knew no strangers, loved cooking and feeding everyone. She had a true heart and true spirit. She was loved by many. She will be missed by family and friends.
