Mitchell Robert Ward: Tabor City

1952 – 2026

     Mitchell Robert Ward of Tabor City died Tuesday, Nov. 3, in Loris Rehab and Nursing Center, Loris. He was 74.

     Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Joyce Milligan Ray Ward.

     He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bruton Ward of the home; three children, Chris Ward (Tim Byrd) of Raleigh; Brandy Ward Lee (Robbie) of Tabor City; Jessica Grainger (Neal) of Wilmington; one sister, Kay Jordan (Charles) of Tabor City; four grandchildren, Tate Lee (Savannah), Carter Ward Lee (Emma), Zachary Grainger, Logan Grainger.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Ward; and a sister, Teresa Britt.

     Graveside services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Family planned to receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
