Henry Earl Cox: Loris
1947 – 2024
Henry Earl Cox of Loris passed away on April 18 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. He was 76.
Born June 17, 1947, in Loris, he was the son of the late Henry D. Cox and the late Anna Lewis Cox.
Mr. Cox served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Army during his two tours in the Vietnam War. Throughout Mr. Cox’s service to his country, he earned 15 medals, ribbons, badges, as well as other forms of honors: National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with V Devices, Republic of Vietnam Services Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Combat Medical Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal (Second Award), 4 Overseas Bars, 2 Service Stripes, and Marksmen Badge.
Survivors include his brother, Tim Cox and his wife Margo; sister-in-law Phyllis Cox of Wilmington; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Henry Cox was predeceased by two brothers, Michael L. Cox and Tony P. Cox.
Private funeral services with military honors were held at Florence National Cemetery.
