Eula Jaye Holmes Collins: Loris

1932 – 2026

     Eula Jaye Holmes Collins of Loris passed away on Monday, May 11, at her home. She was 94.

     Born March 3, 1932, in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Dennie Birdie Holmes and the late Blanche Mabel Suggs Holmes.

     Survivors include her loving daughters, Shelby Cox and Sheryl Collins Hardee; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Vernon Harley Collins; an infant daughter, Myra Lynn Collins; brothers, Liston “Billy” Holmes, Hope Holmes, Dennis J. Holmes, Herman Holmes; sisters Reba Holmes Bell, and Linda Faye Holmes Drew; and a granddaughter.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services followed at Antioch Cemetery.
