Arlon Levoy Small: Green Sea

1932 – 2026

     Arlon Levoy Small of Green Sea passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 9, surrounded by his loving family. He was 93.

     Born Aug. 1, 1932, in Horry County, he was the son of the late John Ottis Small and the late Alma Bright Hammond Small.

     Mr. Small was a farmer in the Green Sea area and a former Horry County sheriff.

     Mr. Small is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Lena Mae Leonard Small; his two daughters, Deborah Small Lanier and Lena Patrice Small Rhodes; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Small was predeceased by his infant daughter, Terri Alison Small; brothers William Venoy Small, Huston D. Small, and Ottis Carlisle Small; sisters Uldeen Small Lewis and Lois Balikes; and two grandchildren.

     Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Green Sea Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Brust officiating. Committal services followed at Green Sea Cemetery.
