Thelma Roberta Jenrette Ward: Tabor City

1934 – 2026

     Thelma Roberta Jenrette Ward of Tabor City passed away Tuesday, June 16, in McLeod Loris hospital, Loris. She was 91.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Burman and Thelma Wright Jenrette.

     She is survived by three daughters, Loretta Ward Heath of Tabor City, Kathy Ward Hucks of Loris, Donna Ward Norris of Tabor City; one son, Rev. Jamey Gurtha Ward of Tabor City; one sister, Brenda Jenrette Poulos of Tallahassee, Florida; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ward; a brother, Jerry Jenrette; two sisters, Lois Stanley and Myrtle Garrell; and a son-in-law.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Carolina Cemetery, Green Sea.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.

     Serving as pallbearers: Randy Ward, Chris Ward, Michael Ward, David Ward, Windell Ward, Rusty Ward.
