Wilma Jewel Soles Suggs: Little River

1929 – 2026

     Wilma Jewel Soles Suggs of Little River passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, at home surrounded by family. She was 96.

     Mrs. Suggs was born Dec. 26, 1929, in Tabor City, daughter of the late John Cornelius Soles and late Sudie Ellen Gore Soles.

     Survivors include her daughter, Jewell S Knight; two granddaughters; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Suggs was predeceased by her husband, Alva Jenkins “Jay” Suggs; her son, Danny Jay Suggs; her sister, Opal Pearl Suggs; and four brothers, Thurston Soles, Thelton Soles, Elbert Soles, and Clyde Soles, Sr.

     Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dr. Greg Hyler and Rev. Ralph Suggs officiating.
