James K. “Bill” O’Quinn: Loris

    James K. “Bill” O’Quinn of Loris passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, at his home. He was 78.
    Mr. O’Quinn was born in Loris, a son of the late Alonzo Grant O’Quinn and the late Amanda Leila Jolly O’Quinn. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.
    Mr. O’Quinn was a printing press operator with Atlantic Publishing and Paper Company for many years and was employed with Ward Funeral Home, now Goldfinch Funeral Home, since 2003. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanette Holmes O’Quinn, and a brother, Tom O’Quinn.
    Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Prince O’Quinn of Loris; three children, Terry O’Quinn and his wife Belinda of Loris, Sarah O. Fowler and her husband Thomas of Tabor City, and Michelle O. Floyd and her husband Tracy of Myrtle Beach; three step-children, David Strickland and his wife Dorothy of Tabor City, Lynne Jernigan and her husband Johnnie of Clarendon, and Juanice Housand of Tabor City; two brothers, Charles O’Quinn and his wife Margie of Socastee, and Eldred O’Quinn and his wife Laura of Spring Hill, Fla.; a sister, Catherine Nix and her husband Mike of Florida; five grandchildren, Tasha O’Quinn, Shanna Simms and her husband Daniel, JoLanna Fowler, Davis Floyd, and Silas Floyd; a great-grandchild, Skylar Lewis; and five step-grandchildren, Bradley Strickland, Adam Jernigan, Steven Jernigan, Kelly Strickland, and Warren Housand.
    Visitation was planned from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
    Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, from Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Slomka, Rev. Bill Thompson, and Rev. Allen Singletary officiating.
    Burial was to follow in Twin City Memorial Gardens.
