Ernestine Hilbourn: Loris

    Ernestine Cannon Hilbourn of Loris age 80, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro  following an illness. She was 80.
     Born on Sept. 1, 1932 in Loris, she was the daughter of Mr. John Quince Cannon and Mrs. Mary Frances Suggs Cannon. 
    Mrs. Hilbourn was a homemaker and attended First Southern Methodist Church in Charleston. She will be most remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
    Survivors include her two daughters, Dorothy “Dee” Hall and husband, Tim of Newport News, Va., and Vivian “Vicky” Alsbrook and husband, Joe of Branchville;  four grandchildren, Denna Fowler and husband, Josh, Lexa Alsbrook and  Jonathan, Sarah Horst and husband, Matthew, and Chandler Sanders and husband, Patrick and eight loving great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents Mrs. Hilbourn was predeceased by her husband Jack A. Hilbourn; her son, Jimmy Dale Hilbourn; her two brothers, Jack Cannon and J.V. Cannnon and her sister, Bertie Lewis.
    Visitation was planned for 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel, with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Rev. Joel Simpson was scheduled to officiate, with committal services to follow at Patterson Cemetery.
