Lloyd Thompkins: Conway

    Lloyd Thompkins of Conway passed away Sunday, Jan. 27 at McLeod Hospital in Florence following an illness.  He was 88.
    Born on May 13, 1924 in Conway he was the son of Mr. Ferd Thompkins and Mrs. Liza Jane Thompkins.  Mr. Thompkins retired as a truck driver with Waccamaw Lumber and was of the Baptist Faith.
    Survivors include his three sons, Buddy Thompkins, Gene Thompkins and Terry Thompkins, all of Conway; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren,  six great-grandchildren,  two step-great-grandchildren, and one brother, Donald Thompkins of Sparta, Tenn.
    In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompkins was predeceased by his wife, Bertha Lee Cartrette Thompkins and several brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Good Hope Apostolic Church with burial following at Thompson Cemetery. Pastor Alan Richardson and Doug Childers were to officiate.
