Oliver C. “Tommy” Fowler: Loris

    Oliver Carlie “Tommy” Fowler of Loris passed away Thursday, Jan. 31 at Conway Medical Center following an illness. He was 80.
    Born on July 9, 1932 in Loris he was the son of Mr. Carlie Aaron Fowler and Mrs. Arcie Fowler.
    Mr. Fowler worked the majority of his life as a power plant foreman  but retired as a foreman with Commercial Systems, Inc. of Myrtle Beach, SC. Tommy was a loving and devoted husband and father who loved his Farmall Tractor and was a longtime member of Dogwood Hill Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Ethel Mae Richardson Fowler of the home, two daughters, Teresa Graham and husband, Perrin of Loris, and Gayle Cox Herring and husband, David of Conway; one son, Joseph “Joey” Christopher Fowler and wife, Annie of Tabor City;  five grandchildren, Kayla, Hunter and Tristen Graham and Logan Fowler and Crystal Watts, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Wade Fowler of Loris, and one sister, Mattie Fowler of Loris.
    In addition to his parents, Mr. Fowler was predeceased by two sons, Timothy Fowler and Kenneth Cox, two brothers, Harvey Fowler and Clifton Fowler and three sisters, Myrtle Fipps, Essie Fowler and Clora Mae Kilmon.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Dogwood Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Floyd and Rev. Alvin Jackson officiating. Committal services followed in Twin City Memorial Gardens.
