Wendell “Billy” Floyd: Loris

Wendell “Billy” Floyd of Loris passed away Monday, Feb. 4, at his home following an illness. He was 70.
Born Jan. 12, 1943 in Green Sea, he was the son of the late Gary Elvington Floyd and the late Florine Rabon Floyd.
Mr. Floyd attended Buck Creek Baptist Church, was a builder by trade and loved fishing but he considered his beloved children his greatest accomplishment.
Survivors include his son, Windell Floyd, Jr.; daughter, Regina Floyd Holmes and husband Sammy all of Loris; four beloved sisters, Juanice Floyd Fowler, Lois Floyd Cox and husband, Wilbur and Ruby Floyd Cox-Mureddu and husband, Sam all of Loris, SC and Jacquelin Floyd Baker Reaves of Whiteville; four grandchildren, Graham Cole Floyd, Christopher Wayne Holmes, Courtney Blair Holmes and Brittney Ann Holmes-Flowers; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Case Holmes and Becca Faye Holmes and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Floyd was predeceased by one son, Gary Wayne Floyd and three brother-in-laws, Reverend Glen Fowler, Leonard Cox and Ron Reaves.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Allen, Reverend Kyle Powell and Deacon Kenneth Beasley officiating. Committal services followed at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
