Virginia Dyson Hooper: St. Lucie Village, Fla.

    Virginia Dyson Hooper of St. Lucie Village, Fla., died March 5 in Vero Beach, Fla. She was 73.
    Born in Wilmington on May 11, 1939, Mrs. Hooper had been a resident of St. Lucie Village, Fla., since 2005.
    She was a member of and married in the Loris First Baptist Church.
    She was preceded in death by her mother Essie Causey Dyson and father William H. Dyson.
    Virginia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Sam T. Hooper, children Ron of Charlotte; Rick and Danny of Orlando, Fla.; Becky Davis of Winston-Salem; her brother, William H. Dyson III of Debordieu, SC; and three grandchildren.
    A celebration service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dr. Tim Osment and Mr. Russell Stanley officiating. Committal services will follow at Patterson Cemetery.
    Donations in Virginia’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Tampa, Fla.
