Joseph Edward Mincey: Loris

    Joseph Edward Mincey of Loris passed away Tuesday, May 21 at MUSC in Charleston following an illness. He was 79.
    Born on February 27, 1934 in Loris he was the son of the late Joseph W. Mincey and the late Maisie Bellamy Mincey Causey.
     Mr. Mincey served his country with courage and honor retiring from the United States Air Force after serving proudly during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Mr. Mincey was the owner of Just Printing and a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary Carver Mincey of the home; two sons, Brian Mincey and wife, Sheri of Rocksboro, NC and Brad Mincey and wife, Cassie of Loris; five loving grandchildren, Ashli, Lucian, Brianna, Olivia and Abigail Mincey; brothers, Jack W. Mincey and wife, Octavia of Conway, and William “Bill” Causey, Jr. and wife, Judy of Longs; sister, Doris M. Renau and husband, Frank of Mt. Pleasant; half-brother, Lucian Mincy and wife, Carmeline of Chicago, Ill., and half-sister, Brenda Stophens and husband, Ted of Wilmington, Va.
    Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 24 at Buck Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Allen and Reverend Grady Corder officiating. Committal services were private.
