Ethel Kersey Godwin: Clarendon

     Ethel Kersey Godwin of the Beaverdam community died Monday evening in McLeod Loris hospital. She was 85.
     Born in Dillon County, she was the daughter of the late Cora Anderson and Neil Kersey.  She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Godwin; three sons, Joseph Garry Godwin, Sammy Dean Godwin and Harry Jerome “Tootie” Godwin, four sisters and six brothers.
     She is survived by a son, Jimmy Godwin of Clarendon; a daughter, Wanda Jean Berry of Little River; a sister, Daisy Vendetti of Fla.; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
     Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City.
     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, in Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Buddy Seay with burial to follow in McPherson Cemetery.
