Lee Odell Manning: Tabor City

1919 – 2017

    Lee Odell Manning of Tabor City died Wednesday, Feb. 1, in McLeod Loris hospital, Loris. He was 97.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Hardison Manning; four brothers, Guy Manning, Lester Manning, Sammy Manning, and Otha Manning; one sister, Mary Beard.
    He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in WWII.
    He is survived by three daughters, Miriam Lightsey of Tallahassee, Florida,  Phyllis Gore of Nakina, Janet King of Hampstead; two sons, Lee Odell Manning Jr. of Swansboro, Douglas Manning of Raleigh; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  
    A memorial service was planned for 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5,  in Bethlehem Baptist Church, 32970 NC Hwy 210, Currie.
