Frances Long Jolly of the Mt. Olive Community in Horry County died Sunday, Feb. 12, at Loris McLeod hospital after a brief illness. She was 84.
She was the widow of the late Cheffo Jolly.
Mrs. Jolly was a long time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was a former GA/Acteen teacher. She was retired from Horry County Public Schools.
Born Jan. 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Gurthie Spivey Long and the late Issac Long, Sr.
Mrs. Jolly is survived by her son, Mark (Kathy) Jolly of Nichols; daughter, Karen (Donald) Grainger of Green Sea; granddaughter, Kira (Jeff) Godwin of Tabor City; grandson, Tim Jolly of Nichols; great grandson, Jacob Godwin of Tabor City; twin sister, Faye Fowler of Hope Mills; brother, Elbert (Anna) Long of Tabor City.
She was preceded in death by a son, Cheffo Jolly, Jr.; brothers, I. B. Long, Jr., Clarence Long, and Robert Long; and sisters, Mildred Mincey, and Grace Fowler.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb., 14 at Meares Funeral Home in Fair Bluff.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Nichols, with burial following in the new Mt. Olive Care Cemetery.
