Ila V. Fipps: Tabor City
1934 – 2017
Ila V. Fipps of Tabor City died Tuesday, Feb. 14, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Whiteville. She was 83.
Born Jan. 20, 1934 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Numpy A. and Sessie Magnolia Fowler Fipps.
She is survived by three sisters, Winetta Fipps Martin of Fuquay Varina, Frances “Patsy” Merritt and Marilyn Jo Fipps of Tabor City; a brother, James Ted Fipps of Maryville, Tennessee; 14 nieces; and six nephews.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
