Janis Carolyn Carter Lupo: Green Sea

1930 – 2017

    Janis Carolyn Carter Lupo of Green Sea, age 86, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19. She was 86.
    Mrs. Lupo was born on June 29, 1930 in Loris, daughter of Rev. Burroughs Carter and Willie Cox Carter.
    Mrs. Lupo worked as a teachers aide at Green Sea Elementary School and was a longtime member of Green Sea Baptist Church.
     Survivors include her daughter, Tommie Lupo Gautsch and husband, Bill of Taylors; her son, Trent Lupo and Pam Elliott of Green Sea; three grandchildren, Noel Posey and husband, Nick, Christopher Gautsch and Kathine Gautsch; two great-grandchildren, Caroline Posey and Ruby Posey all of Greenville, South Carolina; one brother, Rayford Burroughs Carter and wife, Patsy Wise Carter of Columbia; one sister, Kaye Caldwell and husband, “C. C.” of Loris, and one brother-in-law, Bobby Harrelson of Wilmington.
     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lupo was predeceased by her husband, Thomas “Tom” Eldridge Lupo and two sisters, Gena V. Lambert and JoAnn Harrelson.
     Visitation was planned from 5 to 7 p.m.Thursday, Feb. 23 at Hardwick Funeral Home, Loris.
    Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Green Sea Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Herman officiating. Committal services were to follow at Green Sea Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Green Sea Baptist Church, P.O. Box 125, Green Sea, SC 29545.
