Lois Boyd Jones: Loris
1920 – 2017
Lois Boyd Jones of Loris passed away on Sunday, March 19, at Loris Rehab & Nursing Center. She was 96.
Mrs. Jones was born on Dec. 12, 1920 in Loris, daughter of the late Thurman Wilson Boyd and the late Alice Stanley Boyd.
Mrs. Jones worked as an FBI fingerprint analyst for many years and she enjoyed painting, especially landscapes and still life. She was a loving homemaker and a longtime member of Loris First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Dr. G. Tripp Jones and wife, Anne of Columbia, and B. Truett Jones and wife, Crysta of Holden Beach; four grandchildren, Stan Jones and wife, Holly of Panama City, Florida, Ryan Jones and wife, Sarah of Cumming, Georgia, Annette Rourke and husband, Bucky of Dillon, and Will Collins and wife, Tanesha of Florence; 10 great-grandchildren, Hannah Jones and Tide Jones of Panama City, Florida, Caitlyn Jones and Lucas Jones of Cumming, Georgia, Brandon Collins, Blake Collins and Ciera Johnson all of Florence, and Ellison Rourke, John Rourke and Priscilla Rourke all of Dillon.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was predeceased by her husband, George Wendell Jones, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dr. Louis Venable officiating. Committal services were private.
