Gertrude Duncan Cox: Tabor City

1919 – 2017
Gertrude Duncan Cox of Tabor City, died Tuesday, April 18 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter in Whiteville. She was 97.
Born Oct. 14, 1919 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late John Beacher Duncan and Addie Victoria Ward Duncan and the widow of Byron Franklin Cox.
She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Cox Bollinger of Matthews, Saundra Cox Stevens of Tabor City, and Sheila Cox Rowell (Michael) of Columbia; one son, Richard Arnon Cox (Janie) of Whiteville; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers; two sisters; one granddaughter, Farah Cox; and son-in-law, Robert Bollinger.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 21, in Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, in Sandy Plain Baptist Church, Tabor City, burial following in Norris Cemetery, Tabor City.
