Donald McKiever Davis: Loris

1950 – 2017

     Donald McKiever Davis of Loris passed away on Saturday, May 20 at his home. He was 66.
     Mr. Davis was born on Dec. 13, 1950 in Conway, a son of Mr. Arthur Lee Davis and Mrs. Ruby Mae Todd Davis. Mr. Davis was the owner and operator of Donald Davis’s Cabinets and Millworks and attended the Chadbourn Church of God of Prophecy. 
    Mr. Davis was an outstanding cabinetmaker and provider who traveled extensively across the United States during his lifetime. He will be most remembered though as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
    Survivors include his wife, Susie K. Davis of the home; his father, Arthur Lee Davis of Conway; his son, Rev. Timothy Davis and wife, Rita of Lake City; his mother-in-law, Edna Pauline Knutson of Loris; daughter-in-law, Holly Snelson and husband, Derrick and their daughter Madison; three brothers, Grady Lee Davis and wife, Pat of Conway, Jackie Davis and wife, Judy of Aynor, and Johnny Davis of Conway; two sisters, Jeanette Jordan and husband, Glenn and Shirley Sellers all of Conway; four grandchildren, Brett Davis, Brandon Davis, Caleb Davis and Alaina Davis and four great-grandchildren, Christian Davis, Cayden Davis, Adalena Davis (Brett’s children) and Kinzley Davis (Brandon’s daughter).
    Mr. Davis was predeceased by his mother, Ruby Mae Todd Davis; his son, Christopher Timothy Davis and two brothers, Bobby Davis and Lonnie Davis.  
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor John McPherson, Rev. Roger Small, Pastor Ross Altman and Pastor Marcus Fowler officiating. Committal services followed at Stevens Cemetery, Loris.
