Larry Ross Hickman: Loris

1943 – 2020

     Larry Ross Hickman of Loris passed away on Tuesday, June 2, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. He was 77.

     Mr. Hickman was born May 20, 1943 in Wilmington to the late Odom McNair Hickman and the late Mary Elizabeth Heniford.

     Mr. Hickman served his country with courage and honor in Army National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Larry’s Appliance Repair, a member of the Loris Masonic Lodge #205 AFM, and served his community as a fireman with the Loris Fire Department for almost 55 years. He never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

     Survivors include his sister, Patty Lynn Hickman Marley and husband, “J.T.”; two special nieces, Chandra Covil and husband, Ronald Worth Covil, Jr. of Hampstead and Cami Michelle Marley of Wilmington; and two grand-nephews, Ronald Worth Covil III and Ryan Thomas Covil both of Hampstead.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the Loris Fire Department with Rev. John Wayne Tyler and Rev. Mack Hutson officiating, committal services following at Green Sea Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service at the fire department.
