Town Council members have approved a $585,000 purchase of the former Tabor City Family Medicine offices on Pireway Road with plans to make it a new Town Hall.
Council approved the purchase Tuesday following a closed session, four months after approving a 180-day option on the property.
Al Leonard, who was then Town Manager, last November said council plans to relocate Town Hall and the Tabor City Police Department through a combination of remodeling and new construction.
Most know the property as the former offices of Dr. Stephen Grubb and the late Dr. William Stout. It is now owned by Gold Leaf Investments, LLC, a limited liability company formed in 2012, based in Tabor City, online records of the North Carolina Secretary of State show. Jonathan Cox is listed as President, Jonathan Kyle Cox as the registered agent.
