Jerry Jerome Lanier: Tabor City

1947 – 2026

     Jerry Jerome Lanier of Tabor City died Tuesday, March 3, in Mcleod Seacoast hospital, Little River. He was 78.

     Born Nov. 16, 1947, in Columbus County, he was the eldest son of the late Jacob “Jake” Jerome Lanier and Leona Spivey Lanier.

     He is survived by one son, Darren Jerome Lanier of Shallotte; a daughter, Regina Suzanne Lanier of Conway; two brothers, Timothy Lanier (Phyllis) of Tabor City and James Franklin Lanier (Debbie) of Green Sea; three sisters, Katrina Powell (Dale) of Loris, Sara Richardson (Willie) of Greenville, North Carolina, and Donna Kearse (Bryan) of Tabor City; and three grandchildren, Hannah Marie Lanier, Ava Grace Griffith and Jacob Eldon Lanier.

     Funeral services were planned for noon Friday, March 6, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Wright Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
