Paul P. Carter: Longs

Paul P. Carter of Longs passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was 83.
Born on July 12, 1929 he was the son of Mr. Jessie P. Carter and Mrs. Bertha Boyd Carter.
Mr. Carter was a retired farmer, logger and a member of Mt. Leon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Carter of the home; his son, Johnny Carter of Longs; four daughters, Linda Faircloth of Mt. Pleasant, Paulette Rathbun of Longs, Sherill Stalvey of Longs, and Laurie Chestnut of Conway; one sister, Louise Chestnut of Myrtle Beach and many loving grand and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was predeceased by his two brothers, John L. Carter and Clyde Carter and four sisters, Betty Carroll, Alice Sullivan, Alene Canada and Pauline McKenzie.
Funeral services were planned for 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at Mt. Leon Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Pastor Lee Singleton and Reverend Gene Gardner were scheduled to officiate. Committal services were to follow at Mt. Leon Cemetery.
