Virginia Alberta Rowell Todd: Loris

Virginia Alberta Rowell Todd of Loris passed away Sunday, Jan. 13 at Conway Medical Center following an illness. She was 96.
Born on Jan. 24, 1916 in Loris, she was the daughter of William Foster Rowell and Clarice Virginia Jackson Rowell.
Mrs. Todd was a homemaker, a faithful member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and always enjoyed the fellowship she shared with the ladies at the Senior Center at Mt Vernon.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Lynn Todd and Audrey Todd Hughes and husband Tilly all of Loris; one grandson, Eric Ben Hughes of Loris; and two great-granddaughters, Jessica and Casey Hughes.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Todd was predeceased by her husband Harvey Richardson Todd; her four brothers, Carl Kermit Rowell, Coy Rowell, Clarence Rowell and Roland Rowell and three sisters, Annie Badger, Lona Mae Gerald and Flossie Powell.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Reverend Rodney Hord, Reverend Rory Thigpen and Reverend Bill Thompson officiating. Committal services will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery.
