Ronald Devon Williams, Sr.: Chadbourn

1946 – 2022

     Ronald Devon “Ronnie” Williams, Sr. of Chadbourn passed away Friday, May 13, in Columbus County Regional Healthcare. He was 75.

     He was born Aug. 7, 1946 in Columbus County, a son of the late Thomas Andrew Williams and Lottie Mae (Mercer) Williams.

     Ronnie was an auto mechanic for more than 55 years, and a Master Tech at Wells Oldsmobile for more than 25 of those years.

     He is survived by his wife, Doris (Beck) Williams of the home; a son, Devon (Anne) Williams of Chadbourn; two grandsons, Wesley (Brittany) Williams of Warsaw and Matt (Hannah) Williams of Nakina; one granddaughter, Adrianna W. (Cade) Hinson of Chadbourn; three great granddaughters, Taylor Williams, Cashlyn Williams, and Aaliyah Spivey; one sister, Sandra (Paul) Hardie of Whiteville; an adopted sister, Lori Ann (Brian) Ethridge of Crusoe; two sisters-in-law, Ann Williams of Evergreen and Candy Williams of Bladenboro; and several nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tommy and Wade Williams; a sister, Barbara Stanley; his father and mother-in-law, Dewey and Vergie Beck; and a great grandson, Samuel Grant Williams.

     Family planned to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, May 16, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home chapel, burial following in Hinson Cemetery in Beaverdam.
