Bennie Taylor Plessinger, Jr.: Loris

Bennie Taylor Plessinger, Jr. of Loris passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 at his home. He was 72.
Born April 2, 1950 in Newport News, Virginia, he was the son of the late Bennie Taylor Plessinger, Sr., and the late Emma Lee Hanrahan Plessinger.
He served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Sonya Plessinger; a son, John Plessinger and wife Katie and their two children; step-daughter Lorraine Horne and husband Brian; three grandchildren, Sebastian Velez, Alex Velez, and Courtney Horne; and seven siblings, Bennie Taylor Plessinger, II, Jack Burke, Frank Nichols, Fred Nichols, James Nichols, Patricia Sweeney, and Sheryl Coyle.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Plessinger was predeceased by his first wife, Helen McKeithan Plessinger; and two sisters, Alicia Joyner and Wanda Quisenberry.
Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Michael Moses Livingston and Pastor Daisy Vereen Brooks officiating.
Family planned to receive friends during the half-hour preceding the service at the cemetery.
