Wanda Faye Jones: Tabor City

1949 – 2022

     Wanda Faye Jones of Tabor City died Saturday, Nov. 12, in Dosher Memorial Hospital, Southport. She was 73.

     Born Sept. 7, 1949 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Coy Brice Avant and Katherine Geneva Williams Avant.

     She was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

     She is survived by one daughter, Patches McQueen and husband Bobby of Tabor City; two sons, Darrell Glenn Housand II and wife Suanne of Bladenboro and Timothy Earl Jones and wife Tennille of Loris; two sisters, Linda Diane McPherson of Whiteville and Pamela Hernandez of Chadbourn; six grandchildren, Brandon Housand, Sara Housand, Emma Kate Jones, Maggie Claire Jones, Addison McQueen and Tressie McQueen; and her K-9 companions, Max and Eli.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Cherry Grove Baptist Church, burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery.
