Donald Phillip Currie Sr.: Whiteville

1928 – 2022

     Donald Phillip Currie Sr. of Whiteville passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, at his home. He was 94.

     He was born June 6, 1928, in Whiteville, a son of the late Duncan McKoy Currie and Flaudia Currie.

     Mr. Currie was Past Master of Lebanon Lodge 207 in Whiteville and received his 50-year pin in September of this year. He was a member of the Scottish Rite.

     He is survived by two sons, Phil Currie and Darren (Shelly) Currie, all of Whiteville; and two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Drake.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah; one brother, Neil Currie; and one sister, Thelma Harrelson.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, in Inman Ward Funeral Home in Tabor City.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, in Lebanon United Methodist Church, burial following in the church cemetery.
