Jimmy Dale Nealey: Loris

1946 – 2022

     Jimmy Dale Nealey of Loris passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, at his home. He was 76.

     Born Jan. 20, 1946 in Loris, he was the son of the late William Jefferson Nealey and the late Dorothy Heniford Nealey.

     Mr. Nealey served his country with courage, honor, and distinction as an MP in the United States Army. After his military service he worked with Peoples Federal Savings and Loan for 29 years and Horry County State Bank for 10 years until his retirement.

     He volunteered as a fireman with Loris Fire Department for 21 years. Mr. Nealey served Pleasant Meadow Baptist as Treasurer for 41 years, Honorary Trustee, and Deacon. He loved the Lord and his family very deeply.

     Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Gail Fowler Nealey; daughters Christie Nealey Long and husband Ray, and Jodi Nealey Cox and husband Bradley; four grandchildren, Allyson Reagan Long, Madison Avery Cox, Brandon Ray Long, and Thomas Bradley Cox; a brother, James Lewis Nealey; and mother-in-law Jennette G. Fowler.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Nealey was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Lucille Adams and Lois Juanita Nealey Wheeler.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Perry Jones and Rev. Ray Truett officiating, committal services following at Pleasant Meadow Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the two hours preceding services at the church.
