Elbert Woodrow Hardee: Conway
1937 – 2022
Elbert Woodrow Hardee of Conway passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11. He was 85.
Born Aug. 10, 1937 in Loris, he was the son of the late Jackson Woodrow Hardee and the late Veola Elizabeth Hardee.
Mr. Hardee worked as a nuclear power plant supervisor and farmer. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and always made sure to take care of his neighbors and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Survivors include his three children, Roger Hardee (Kelly), Jimmy Earl Hardee of Conway and Regina Hardee of Loris; ten grandchildren, Kaye Hardee Tyler (Jason), Ashley Dale Hardee (Jill), Martin Hardee, Colby Hardee (Mary Ashley), Hunter Hardee (Shelbey), Haisen Hardee, Heather Hardee, Elizabeth Porter, Maria Garcia, and Bladen Hardee; fourteen great-grandchildren, Hunter McGuire, Carly McGuire, Jaidyn Hardee, Easton Hardee, Ember Hardee, Kenneth Earl Strickland, Amber Strickland, Skylar Hardee, Conner Hardee, Baby Hardee, Keegen Smeriglio, Koleten Smeriglio, Kinsley Smeriglio, and Grayson Garcia; two brothers, Billy Hardee (Lois) and Garland Hardee (Saundra); two sisters-in-law, Barbara Hardee and Pat Hardee; special caretaker Samantha Simmons; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardee was predeceased by his wife, Clara Belle Spivey Hardee; a son, Glenn Hardee; brothers Wendell Hardee and Thomas Mayberry Hardee; and a sister, Louise H. Fowler.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Hardwick Funeral Home.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Mack Hutson, Rev. Jimmy Caines, and Rev. Josh Clardy officiating, committal services following at Cherry Hill Cemetery.
