TSgt. Charles Lucian Vinson: Loris

1960 – 2023

     TSgt. Charles Lucian Vinson of Loris passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. He was 62.

     Born Oct. 20, 1960 on Elgin Air Force Base, Florida, he was the son of the late Eddie M. Vinson and the late Sarah Cooper Vinson.

     Mr. Vinson served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Air Force for 24 years. He was an Aircraft Mechanic for a total of 40 years and after his retirement from the United States Air Force he served in Civil Service.

     Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Alison Vinson; a son, Marcus Vinson (Heather) of Loris; granddaughter Zoey Vinson; two brothers, James “Murrell” Vinson (Geneva) and David Vinson (Sue); Mark and Debbie Weber who were chosen family and very dear to the Vinson family their daughter, Charlotte Weber and her two children, London and Addy; two sisters-in-law, Cindy Suggs (Kenny) and Hannah Willard; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Vinson was predeceased by his son, Christopher Vinson and mother-in-law, Wilma P. Cox.

     Memorial services were planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Player officiating.

     In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 1506 Gumm Plaza, Hwy, 501, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
