Fred E. Vereen, Jr.: Tabor City

1940 – 2023

     Fred E. Vereen, Jr. of Tabor City died Wednesday, March 1, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare. He was 82.

     Born June 7, 1940 in Conway, he was the son of the late Ernest and Bessie Vereen.

     Mr. Vereen was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

     Mr. Vereen is survived by his wife Linda Vereen; a son, Ted Vereen; two stepsons, Scot Holland and Tracy Holland; a sister, Sheryl Ann Causey of Conway; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.

     Mr. Vereen was predeceased by his daughter, Dena Wright.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, at Goldfinch Funeral Home Loris Chapel with Pastor Dale Willoughby officiating, interment following at Lakeside Cemetery, Conway.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
