Rev. William Moody Prince: Tabor City

1933 – 2023

     Rev. William Moody “Billy” Prince of Tabor City died Saturday evening, March 25, in his home. He was 89.

     Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late John Mion Prince and Myrtle Butler Prince. He was the widower of Dessie Viola Cartrette Prince.

     He is survived by one son, John Thomas Prince and wife Marjorie of Tabor City; a daughter, Patricia Prince McGougan and husband Edgar of Tabor City; one sister Darcus Grainger and husband Roger of Tabor City; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and extended family; and a special friend, Geniece Norris.

     In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Prince; and a sister, Hilda Williamson.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, in Sandy Plain Baptist Church, entombment following in Cartrette Cemetery, Sandy Plains Church Road near Tabor City.

     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sandy Plain Baptist Church Youth Group, 6824 Swamp Fox Hwy E., Tabor City, NC 28463
