Doris Jane Hickman: Savannah, Ga.

1930 – 2023

     Doris Jane Parham Hickman of Savannah, Georgia, formerly of Tabor City, died Monday, April 10. She was 93.

     Born March 22, 1930 in Cairo, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Lester Scott Parham and Ruby Lee Bennett Parham and the widow of William Joseph “Bill” Hickman.

     She attended Coker College and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She was employed with Prince Motor Company, Waccamaw Bank, and the Department of Agriculture.

     She is survived by one daughter Doris Ann Hickman Zaitz and husband Michael of Savannah, Georgia; a brother, Lester Parham of Chadbourn; and one grandchild, Joseph Zaitz.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Parham.

     A graveside service was planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Visitation was planned from 10 to 10:45 a.m., preceding the service, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
