Bessie L. Wiley Haar Adkins: Loris

1925 – 2023

     Bessie L. Wiley Haar Adkins of Loris passed to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 12. She was 97.

     She was the second youngest of the late Merida “Bud” Wiley and Carrie Stapleton Wiley of Paintsville, Kentucky and their last surviving child.

     She resided in Loris for the last 20 years with her daughter, Lorene H. Wright-Thompson.

     She is survived by her five children, Merida Lorene H. Wright-Thompson of Loris, Fred Haar of Wilmore Kentucky; Linda H Mayo of Kaufman, Texas, Becky H Brinkley of Suffolk Virginia; Millie Haar of Frisco, Texas; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at Preston Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, Paintsville, Kentucky.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, at Dan Gambill Cemetery, 136 Main Street, Thelma, Kentucky, with burial near her parents.
