Edgar Pridgen Duncan: Tabor City
1931 – 2023
Edgar Pridgen “Pete” Duncan of Tabor City died Thursday, April 13, in McLeod Seacoast Hospital. He was as 92.
He was born in Tabor City, a son of the late Alton Edwin Duncan and Retha Lola (Long) Duncan.
He is survived by three sons, Alan Duncan and his wife Ann, John Duncan, and Greg Duncan and his wife Wendy, all of Tabor City; five grandchildren, Laura, Timothy, Rebecca, Andrew, and Tanner; eight great-grandchildren, Peyton, Oscar, Anna, Taylor, Mallory, Lily, Owen, and Isabella; a brother, Tom Duncan and his wife Clara of Nakina; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maeve Long Duncan; a granddaughter, Kayla Nicole Duncan; four sisters, Cecil Rita Duncan (infant), Virgie Smith, Virginia Moore, and Magdalene Jenkins; four brothers, Alton Wayman Duncan (infant), Charles Duncan, Jimmie Duncan, and Homer Duncan.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Monday, April 17, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tabor City, burial following in Duncan Cemetery
Serving as pallbearers will be Timothy Duncan, Andrew Duncan, Tanner Duncan, Oscar Pineda, Dan Burget, and Jeff Long.
