John Albert Buck: Tabor City

1945 – 2023

     John Albert Buck of Tabor City died Friday, May 5, in his home. He was 78.

     Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Albert Clayton Buck and Mae Belle Smith Buck.

    He served his country in the U.S. Army

     He was the widower of Louvenia Estelle Jenrette Buck.

     He is survived by one son, Ken Buck and wife Beverly of Nakina; a daughter, Tina Buck Clark and husband Shane of Newton; one brother, Robert Buck of Tabor City; a sister, Gloria Mae Gaskin of Ash; five grandchildren, Kayla Buck Norris, Kendra Buck, Carmen Buck, Christian Clark, Joshua Clark; one great-grandchild, John Caleb Norris; and special friend Audrey Moore of Nakina.

     In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, JC Buck and Hubert Buck; and a sister, Erma Martin.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, in Gore’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Nakina, burial following in the Pireway Methodist Church Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Serving as pallbearers are Mark Buck, Steven Buck, Daniel Buck, Anthony Buck, Rex Buck, and Shane Moore.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
