Windell Devane Prince: Clarendon
1946 – 2023
Windell Devane Prince of Clarendon was called to his heavenly home while at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville with his devoted wife by his side on May 7. He was 76.
Windell was born at Rogers Clinic in Loris to Greer Collins Prince, Sr. and Mary Eulee Milligan Prince on Nov. 26, 1946.
He was predeceased by his parents, a son, John Julio Prince, who did not survive to birth; brothers Greer Collins “GC” Prince, Jr. and Victor Thomas Prince; a sister, Nina Lee Prince; half-sisters Elmarie Prince Canady, Ila Pearl Prince Prinkki, and Mary Carolyn Edge Wheeler.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years Sylvia Benton Prince; daughters Wendy Roblero, Karen Shelton, and Melinda Rivera; sisters Eudell Coe and Elizabeth Watts; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
Visitation was planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, with memorial services at 2 p.m. at Clarendon Baptist Church.
In remembrance, the family asks that anyone who can donate blood to do so, and in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Deacon’s Ministry Fund of Clarendon Baptist Church 2326 Sidney-Cherry Grove Road Clarendon, NC 28432.
