Norman Devon Tyree: Whiteville

1940 – 2023

     Norman Devon Tyree of Whiteville died Monday, May 15, in his home. He was 82.

     Born Sept. 30, 1940 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Clyde H. Tyree and Pearlie Stephens Tyree and the widower of Irene Cartrette Tyree.

     He is survived by a sister, Ann Cartrette of Chadbourn; one grandson; extended family and close friends.

     In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Ray Reaves; and four brothers, Floyd Tyree, Winston Tyree, James Tyree and Wayne Tyree.

     A graveside service was planned for 2 p.m. Friday, May 19, in McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn.

     Family planned to receive friends after the service in the cemetery.
