Dottie Jean Gerald: Loris

1948 – 2023

     Dottie Jean Gerald of Loris died Saturday, May 27, in McLeod Loris hospital. She was 75.

     Born in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Walter T. Nealey and Freida Soles Nealey.

     She is survived by her husband, Winfred F. Gerald Sr. of Loris; a daughter, Beverly Gerald (Nova) of Leland; two sons, Richard Jenrette (Cory Bryant) of Nashville, Tennessee and Winfred F. Gerald Jr. (Traci) of Loris; one grandson, Michael Cruz Gerald of Loris; and a sister, Mary Martin of Tabor City.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Nealey, James Nealey, Johnny Nealey and Walter Nealey.

     Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery, corner of Dows and Cane Branch Road, Loris.

     Family planned to receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
